Printing

What this part would do on a printer, and what it would cost to make. Ask again in another plastic and the answers change with it.

Calculators

The calculators KATI can call while it draws. A tool that is on is used without being asked for; one that is not is offered when a design needs it.

Stress

Checks whether the part bends too far or breaks under a load. A quick estimate, not certified analysis.

  1. Hold it. With Pick held faces on, click the faces that are bolted, welded or clamped down. These cannot move.
  2. Load it. Switch to Pick loaded faces and click the faces the force acts on.
  3. Say how hard. Set the force in newtons and its direction, then press Run.

The model stays live while this panel is open — click faces on it directly.
